Hello there, it's Trippo, from Austin, Texas, USA, and I have been composing & producing my experimental recordings since 1989. I play guitar mostly, but I've been known to play (or at the very least make noises with) whatever I can get my hands on including bass, keyboards, drums, drum programming, midi programming, computer programming, toys, household objects, etc. Sometimes I say strange things and people wonder.

30th Anniversary Hoopla
So at long last the 30th Anniversary Hoopla crescendos with the release of my 14th album BEFORE/AFTER on August 31st...get a visual taste of the new album by checking out the third installment of Trippovision, available here. The AGENT X single release has been delayed for the nonce, I don't feel like the tone is right, but I may release it by year's end (or never).
> Greater Than update: I am still at work with Krich on the next album THE RECIDIVIST, the album is just about finished, we anticipate a 2020 release, more news as it happens...

I have recently acquired a Mellotron M4000D Mini, which is an old prog rocker's wet dream...I've always wanted to own one since I learned what one was as a young aspiring musician...I did two demo improvisations with it right out of the box, using just the Mellotron and some looping & reverb effects from my Boss GT-10, and I was amazed with the results despite my unfamiliarity with the keyboard and my overall performance rust. LISTEN HERE IF YOU DARE!
Having fun with new gear during lockdown...this time, I've acquired a Roland MC-707 Groovebox to replace my ancient Boss DR-660 drum machine. The Groovebox looks to be a bit of a programming challenge (it is a sampler, a sequencer, a keyboard, and a drum machine all in one package), but I definitely plan to showcase it in my upcoming 30th Anniversary Show later this summer, plus any other gear I acquire in the next few months or so, more show details as they emerge...anyway, I programmed my first project, called Agent X, and did three different improvised performances using a variety of tones and settings on the 707. This is the first recording I made with the Roland MC-707 Groovebox, it features only the pre-programmed elements of the project without any lead synth work. I called it Agent X because it sounds like "spy action sequence" theme music.
This version strips out some of the pre-programmed stuff and features a "spooky" tone synth lead.
The third version employs a Gary Numan-esque synth lead tone and adds a new theme to the work.
Mellotron Quickie: I did a series of short pieces with the Mellotron to test the various tone combinations, this one features marimba and harp.
Mellotron Quickie: This short piece features accordion and brass.
Mellotron improvisation inspired by our current pandemic situation.

THE YNGWIE TAPES1993-1994
AUDIO: LEPREUXThis project is a condensed version of three hour long cassettes of 4 track mixes under the name "Yngwie Mwowmstein". The first cassette, CHRONIC, was mixed July 5th 1993, the second cassette, ANYTHING CAN BE MUSIC, was mixed February 13th 1994, and the third cassette, TONGUE IN CHEESE, was mixed March 18th 1994. A lot of this material appears in different forms scattered across several Trippo Marx albums, but this collection provides a sampling of the initial cassette mixes along with a few tracks from the cassettes that have since been remixed.

Speedwagon began its short life as a collaboration between Jason “Mannheim Joint Roller” Morris and myself. I met Jason while we were in the electrical engineering program at the University of Texas. We never planned to be a “band” per se; we just liked making stupid recordings. We eventually wound up collaborating with his sister Melissa (“Tracy Chapstick”).

Nothing about this project went right, and yet everything went exactly how it was supposed to. This first outing was an impromptu jam in my tiny townhouse bedroom using whatever gear we had at our disposal.
