A collection of analog oddities and minimalist curios

This album started out as an eponymous five song EP released in 1999 in lieu of the full-length project I was still trying to complete (my fifth album THE MOON IS ENGLISH FOR LUNA). Over the next year and a half I expanded the project bit by bit to album length. The current running order contains three of the five original EP tracks, plus most of the material I added in the expansions, as well as a few premiere recordings unique to this version, and for all practical purposes it is the “definitive” edition of the album. Like many of my albums, it is mostly instrumental, peppered throughout with strange voices saying strange things.

Alien Trampoline Torus: In 1998 or 1999, I had a dream I was inside a torus-shaped alien spaceship. There were three or so aliens (looking quite like your standard "grey" aliens of UFO lore) bouncing and jumping up and down in patterns throughout the inside of the torus. I join right in of course, bouncing and jumping around the torus, having a good time. It seemed a natural thing to do according to the logic of the dream, but while I was doing all that jumping and bouncing around I came to a stark realization that I was bouncing and jumping around and having a good time with FREAKIN’ ALIENS!!! This made me start to feel dizzy, a kind of dizzy that perhaps only survivors of catastrophic disasters (or UFO contactees) truly understand. That feeling, combined with the effects of the microgravity environment of the torus caused me to lose some of my energy and momentum in my bouncing and jumping. The alien nearest me turned to me and gave me a chilling look, showing displeasure at my obvious loss of focus. The dream ended there, and if there was a message from my subconscious embedded here, I'm not exactly sure what conclusions to draw…pay closer attention to bouncing and jumping? I don’t know, anyway, it was a hell of a ride while it lasted and I can't wait to do it again someday.
